Industry templates: how your vertical tunes the AI
3 min · updated Jul 24, 2026
In short
Picking your industry loads a template built for that trade — it shapes the greeting, what the receptionist captures, and what it treats as urgent — so the AI sounds like it works at your business, not a generic bot.
01Pick your industry during onboarding
Choose the vertical that fits your business — dental, HVAC, plumbing, salon/spa, law, restaurant, auto repair, real estate, med spa, or general home services. There's a custom option if none fit exactly.
02What the template changes
Each template sets an industry-appropriate greeting, the intents the AI listens for (book, reschedule, quote, emergency), and the details it collects for your trade. It also tunes what counts as urgent — a burst pipe or a dental emergency gets flagged and routed differently from a routine question.
03It's a starting point, not a cage
The template just pre-fills good defaults. Everything — services, FAQs, the greeting, the underlying instructions — is editable afterward in the assistant editor, so you can shape it to exactly how your front desk works.
Changing your industry later is possible from your organization settings; it re-tunes the template.
Frequently asked questions
My business doesn't match any listed industry.
Pick the closest one, or the custom option, then refine the services, FAQs, and instructions in the assistant editor. The template only sets defaults — the specifics come from your business profile.
